We will be using our regular Civic Association meeting time to provide members (please make sure you have paid your $10 dues) with an update and discussion on the plans for traffic calming along Township Line Road.
Join the discussion – 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 17. We meet at Bon Air Fire Company (on Royal Ave.) Park and enter at the rear of the building.
A plan to slow traffic and increase safety has recently been proposed by PennDot, and local officials want to gather input from the community before finalizing the plan (deadline for finalization: Nov. 30.) We’ll review it, discuss, and talk about next steps.
HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP AND UPPER DARBY TOWN MEETING TO DISCUSS
“TRAFFIC CALMING” ALONG DANGEROUS TOWNSHIP LINE ROAD
November 3 – 7 p.m.
St. Dot’s School Hall
On November 3, Haverford Township, Upper Darby Township, State Representative Jamie Santora and State Senator Tom McGarrigle will host a Town Meeting to review PennDot’s proposed recommendations for “traffic calming” along Township Line Road between Lansdowne Avenue and State Road.
State Representative Santora initiated a request with PennDot with coordination of Haverford Commissioner Bill Wechsler and Upper Darby Mayor Tom Micozzie after two fatal accidents on Township Line in the month of September.
An initial meeting was held with both Police Departments and officials from both townships on September 15, 2016.
PennDot was asked to develop a plan to increase safety along Township Line Road. A follow-up meeting was held at PennDot’s regional office on October 6, 2016. An initial plan was presented and both townships suggested some changes.
On November 3, there will be a Town Meeting to present the initial plan and hear feedback from the residents that live in the area of Township Line Road.
The meeting will be held at St. Dorothy Parish School Hall at 7:00 p.m.
Please attend if at all possible. Your input is important.
It is one of our favorite nights of the year and it is almost here! August 27 is your chance to see “Inside Out” in the great outdoors!
Here is what you need to know about the event:
- The event begins at 7:30 p.m. That’s when you’ll be able to “claim your spot.”
- We’ll ask for those in chairs to sit towards the back, and reserve the close seats for folks sitting on the ground.
Hilltop Civic Association will be selling all sorts of treats – candy, popcorn, water, glow necklaces & bracelets – and lots more.
- The movie will begin at dusk.
- At the end of the night, Bon Air Fire Company will be there to light up the field and help everyone get safely back to their cars – please make sure to take your trash with you! (We will have trash cans ready!)
